Botanist Margaret Bradshaw embarks on Teesdale trek

A 95-year-old botanist who only learned to ride a horse two years ago is embarking on a 54-mile trek to raise awareness of endangered plants.

Dr Margaret Bradshaw also aims to raise funds for the Teesdale Special Flora Research and Conservation Trust so that it can conduct surveys and trial conservation methods.

She will complete her ride through Teesdale over several weeks, tackling the journey in small sections.
