Andrea Cardinale: Watch as Stockton killer arrested

This is the moment a man was arrested for brutally killing his friends with a sledge hammer.

Andrea Cardinale, 22, was having an acute schizophrenic episode when he killed his fellow Italians Antonino Calabrò, 26, and Francesca Di Dio, 20, in their shared Stockton home on 21 December.

He claimed he believed the couple, who were last seen alive on CCTV in the early hours of the morning, had cursed him and he had their voices in his head telling him to kill them.

Cardinale admitted manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility and was sentenced to an indefinite hospital order.
