A man has been charged with manslaughter following the death of Thomas Tierney, 54
A 27-year-old man has been charged with manslaughter after another man died in a town centre.
Thomas Tierney, 54, suffered a head injury in an incident near the Ship Inn Yard alley on Stockton High Street on Saturday 2 September.
He was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees, external, where he later died.
The man charged with manslaughter is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates' Court on Friday 24 November, Cleveland Police said.
After his death, Mr Tierney's family said he was "loved" and would be "very much missed".
