A man died following a collision on Christmas Day.
Anthony Inwood was on a motorcycle on Durham Road, Spennymoor, at about 15:30 GMT when he was involved in a collision with a car travelling in the opposite direction, Durham Police said.
The 35-year-old father-of-two died as a result of his injuries later that day.
A 16-year-old boy, who was also on the motorcycle, was arrested. He has been released under investigation while inquiries continue.
His family said their "world had been turned upside down".
"We are heartbroken for his two beautiful daughters who have lost their dad on Christmas Day," they said.
The collision involved a Honda CRF 250 motorcycle and a Hyundai i10, Durham Constabulary said.
The driver of the car suffered minor injuries.
Police said the bike was in convoy with another red motorcycle at the time of the collision, and it did not stop at the scene.
Officers are trying to trace the rider or riders of this bike.
