Plans to reduce the speed limit on a stretch of road in County Durham in a bid to reduce the number of accidents has been revealed.
Currently motorists can drive up to 70mph on the A690 between the Gilesgate and Carrville roundabouts on the outskirts of Durham City.
The county council wants to reduce this to 50mph and wants to hear what local people think of the plan.
Feedback letters are being sent out and the consultation ends on 31 August.
