Cleaners working on the Tyne and Wear Metro will strike for 72 hours from 22:30 GMT on Sunday.

Members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union will take part in the action as part of a pay dispute with employer Churchill's Cleaning Services.

The action will come to an end at 22:29 GMT on 26 December, the RMT said.

Services on the network have been unaffected by previous strikes by the cleaners.
