The revamped waterpark reopens on 4 August

A waterpark in North Tyneside is set to reopen following a £1.1m refurbishment.

Wet 'n' Wild in North Shields, opened in 1993, but went into administration in October.

The site is scheduled to reopen on 4 August following the revamp, which included a new cafe, soft play area and additional family changing facilities and showers.

North Tyneside elected mayor Norma Redfearn, said it would be a "great boost" to see the facility open again.

Moirai Capital Investments and Serco Leisure formed a partnership to run the site after the attraction went into administration.
