Seven teenagers have been charged with murdering a father-of-two in Northumberland.
Danny Humble, 35, suffered a head injury in an attack in Romsey Close, Cramlington, on 29 May and died the next day.
The seven, aged 16 and 17 at the time, appeared individually at North Tyneside Magistrates' Court earlier.
Three of the accused have since turned 18 and were remanded. The four youths are in the care of the local authority.
'Devoted dad'
The seven teenagers will appear in court again on Friday.
The three adults, all from Blyth, are Alistair Dickson, of Hawkins Way, Bailey Wilson of Mitford Avenue, Blyth, and Ethan Scott of Chester Grove.
No pleas were taken and the case has been sent to Newcastle Crown Court where a hearing will be held on 8 December.
At the time of his death, Mr Humble's family described him as "compassionate" and a "devoted dad", and they were "lost without him".
