Ponteland woman charged with murdering 81-year-old husband

A woman has been charged with murdering her 81-year-old husband.
Anthony Dunn was found dead at the family home in the Ponteland, Northumberland, at about 17:30 GMT on Tuesday, Northumbria Police said.
Janet Dunn, 72, appeared before South East Northumberland Magistrates' Court where she spoke only to confirm her name, age and address.
She was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Newcastle Crown Court on 21 March.
The force has asked people to "avoid any speculation" both "locally and on social media" so as to not jeopardise proceedings.
