Sunderland commentator Nick Barnes reaches 1,000th match

BBC Newcastle's Nick Barnes will reach a milestone when he commentates on his 1,000th football match.

Since 1992, he has reported on Carlisle United and Newcastle United before moving to the Black Cats.

Travelling to face Stoke City on Saturday, Sunderland's match will officially mark his 1,000th commentary.

To reflect on Barnesy's milestone, we took a trip down memory lane at the Stadium of Light with reporter Laura Fitzsimmons.
