Police are trying to trace a man they want to speak to in connection with the death of a Sunderland woman.

Melissa Eastick was found dead in a home after being assaulted in October.

Northumbria Police have released pictures of a man they believe could help in the investigation.

Two men, aged 38 and 40, were previously arrested on suspicion of murder. The 40-year-old was bailed and the 38-year-old released with no further action to be taken.

On the morning of 17 October, Ms Eastick's body was discovered by police after officers received a report of concern for a woman at a property on Sunderland's Stockton Terrace.

The 36-year-old died from assault-related injuries.

The images released on Monday mark the latest development in Northumbria Police's investigation into the death.

The man, or anyone who knows him, is asked to get in touch with police.
