Sian O'Callaghan murder accused remanded in custody

A man accused of murdering Swindon woman Sian O'Callaghan has been remanded in custody.
No application for bail was made for taxi driver Christopher Halliwell, 47, of Ashbury Avenue, Swindon, at Bristol Crown Court earlier.
Miss O'Callaghan, 22, disappeared after leaving the Suju nightclub in Swindon on 19 March following a night out with friends.
Her body was found near Uffington, Oxfordshire, on Thursday.
Mr Halliwell was remanded in custody to appear via video link at Bristol Crown Court on 8 April.
Wiltshire Police said an inquest into Miss O'Callaghan's death would be opened and adjourned at Oxford Coroner's Court on Friday.
On Tuesday, police said they had started searching for Miss O'Callaghan's handbag in fields in the Claypits Lane area, close to where Miss O'Callaghan's body was found.
Items still missing include her DKNY watch, car key and house key.
