Angry scenes as man accused of Sian O'Callaghan murder leaves court

There were angry scenes in Swindon as a 47-year-old taxi driver appeared in court charged with murdering Sian O'Callaghan.

The body of the 22-year-old was found in Oxfordshire last Thursday.

Members of the public ran forward to attack the prison van carrying Christopher Halliwell as it left court.

He was remanded in custody by Swindon magistrates to appear before Bristol Crown Court on 30 March.
