Community group in Swindon for alleyway clean-up
- Published
A community group in Wiltshire is helping to clear up one of the county's towns.
Swindon Back Garden was set up by residents to clear fly-tipped rubbish in privately-owned alleys in Eastcott.
The large majority of back alleyways in Swindon are designated as public highways and will be cleared by the council of fly-tipping.
But with privately-owned alleys, the council will offer advice to residents, and collect all the rubbish they clear.
Saturday's clear-up operation is focused on the alleyway at the rear of Cross Street.
The council will do a hazardous items sweep beforehand and also provide bags for the waste.
