Striker Nile Ranger has pleaded not guilty to criminal damage after a door and lift were damaged at an apartment building in Swindon.

Wiltshire Police said Mr Ranger, 23, was arrested on Monday over allegations of a disturbance at Gordon Gardens at about 04:00 BST on 13 April.

The Swindon Town star was also held on suspicion of common assault but no charges have been brought.

He denied the criminal damage charge at the town's magistrates' court.

His arrest came following the release of CCTV footage to a Sunday newspaper.

Swindon Town bosses have asked the player, who was bailed by magistrates, to attend a hearing on Thursday, BBC Wiltshire reported.
