The hospice will allow the charity to extend its support county-wide to other families with life-limited children

A children's hospice charity has said finding a new site in Wiltshire is a "major landmark" in children's care.

Julia's House has been fundraising for the £3m hospice since January, with help from the likes of Robert Downey Jr, David Beckham and Guy Ritchie.

It said Wiltshire Council had accepted an offer on two disused office buildings in Devizes: Yew Trees and The Lodge.

The hospice will offer respite and end-of-life care and will open in 2017.

"Finding this site is the beginning of a major landmark in care of Wiltshire children," said Martin Edwards, Julia's House chief executive.

"Having access to frequent, free respite care on their doorstep will quite simply transform the lives of families struggling to cope with the demands of a very sick child.

"The new hospice will enable us to reach out to every family in Wiltshire that needs our support no matter where they live."
