Motorcyclist dies in collision with car in Melksham

A motorcyclist died when his bike was in collision with a car in Wiltshire.

The crash in Melksham on Saturday afternoon saw the road closed for six hours.

The 20-year-old from Melksham died at the scene. The male driver of the blue BMW 325 was uninjured.

Wiltshire Police are keen to speak to anybody who witnessed the crash at 14:45 BST on the B3107 Bradford Road, close to the Countrywide Store roundabout.

The blue Suzuki GSF 600 motorbike was travelling towards Melksham when it was in collision with the BMW as it left business premises close to the roundabout.

The motorcyclist's next of kin have been informed but formal identification has not yet taken place.

Officers are particularly keen to speak to the drivers of a white, new model, Ford Fiesta and a silver/grey Skoda Octavia taxi who drove past the crash scene but did not stop.
