The Conservatives have retained control of Swindon Borough Council, with wins in former Labour strongholds.

Areas such as Penhill and Rodbourne Cheney - traditionally Labour seats - have turned from red to blue.

The Tories also took a seat in Wroughton and Wichelstowe, previously held by the Liberal Democrats.

A total of 20 seats were contested. The election means the council is made up of 36 Conservatives, 20 Labour members and an independent.
