Wiltshire heritage centre closed for improvement work

A history centre is closing for alteration work to improve the ease of use and services available.
Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre in Chippenham is now closed until 8 January, 2024.
Councillor Richard Clewer from Wiltshire Council said the work had been planned for the least disruptive period of the year.
The work will see a new layout and a help desk, search room and improved reception areas.
This will only affect the archives and local studies services. Other services operating from the premises will continue as normal, including the conservation and museum advisory service, registration service copy certificates and archaeology services.
Mr Clewer added: "We look forward to welcoming people back to an improved history centre in the new year."
