Three teenage boys have been arrested after threatening residents during a burglary.

Wiltshire Police said the incident happened in Fisherton de la Mere, near Warminster, at about 18:30 GMT on 27 December.

A 16-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and possession of cannabis.

A 15-year-old and 14-year-old were also arrested on the same charges as well as drug driving.

Wiltshire Police say the trio forced their way into the home and demanded that car keys and cash were handed over before driving off in the occupants' vehicle.

The stolen car was then spotted by police a short time later in Salisbury, where the driver failed to stop and crashed.

A number of weapons, including an air rifle and pistols, were found during further investigations and seized.

All three teenagers remain in custody and police have urged any witnesses to come forward.
