A man who pleaded guilty to sexual assault and indecent exposure has been given a suspended prison sentence.

Nikhil Chopra, 21, of Walsall, was given an 18-month sentence, suspended for 24 months, at Swindon Crown Court.

Police were alerted to the assault by members of the public concerned for a woman's safety in Hoopers Place, Swindon, on 1 September, 2023.

A second defendant, Aryan Choudhary, faces a trial after pleading not guilty to sexual assault.

The case against the 21-year-old, of no fixed abode, will be heard from 28 February.

Chopra also has to complete 55 days of rehabilitation, 43 days in a specialist sexual offending programme and pay a £187 victim surcharge.
