Bradley Stacey has left Tesco Abbey Meads employees "shaken"

A man has admitted holding a shop worker at knifepoint during a robbery.

Bradley Stacey, 21, entered the Tesco Abbey Meads store in Swindon on 8 December, Swindon Crown Court was told.

Stacey, of Stapleford Way, Penhill, appeared in court on Thursday charged with robbery, possession of a bladed article, two counts of criminal damage and section 4A Public Order.

He was remanded in custody and is due to be sentenced on 9 April.

The court heard shop workers were left "shaken" by his actions after he demanded money from the till.

Following the robbery Stacey was located nearby and arrested.

He was then further arrested on suspicion of criminal damage after spitting in the back of the police van, before damaging bedding within his cell in custody and smearing blood on the wall.

Det Con Sally Booth of Swindon CID has described Stacey's behaviour as "disgraceful".

"His actions in Tesco have understandably left the staff members feeling shaken by the incident, while our officers shouldn't have to be subjected to the kind of abuse and threats that Stacey made against them," she said.
