George William Rogers, 26, appeared in court for distributing a video without consent

A man has pleaded guilty after filming himself having sex with a woman who did not consent to being recorded and sharing it.

George William Rogers, 26, of Perham Down, in Wiltshire took a video of himself having consensual sex with the victim, a woman in her 20s, without her knowledge, on 22 October two years ago.

He then shared the video on a social media platform with friends.

The 26-year-old was arrested and charged for sharing the video.

'Completely violated'

Wiltshire Police Police said: "This is a disgraceful act which is a complete breach of the trust of the victim, who had no idea the video was being taken.

"Rogers then compounded the breach by sending it to his friends without the victim's consent, leaving the victim feeling completely violated."

They added that they wanted to pay tribute to the victim for her "bravery" in reporting the incident and throughout the investigation.

"I hope by publicising this case that people who recognise similar behaviours in their own lives realise the wrongdoings of their actions and the devastating consequences this can have on victims," they added.

Rogers appeared at Salisbury Magistrates' Court on 26 January charged with sending by public communication network an offensive, indecent, obscene or menacing message or matter.

He was bailed ahead of sentencing on 4 March.
