Woman airlifted to hospital after A303 crash near Stonehenge

A woman has been airlifted to hospital following a crash on the A303.

The A303 is closed in both directions between the A345 Countess Roundabout in Amesbury and the A360 Longbarrow Roundabout in Salisbury.

Traffic is queueing on the major route near Stonehenge following the crash, which happened at around 14:40 GMT on Sunday.

Wiltshire Police are in attendance and a diversion route is in place.

The force confirmed that two vehicles were involved in the crash, and a woman had been airlifted to hospital after sustaining a leg injury.

A spokesperson said: "Two vehicles were involved - a Toyota Yaris and a Mercedes. One woman has been airlifted to hospital with a leg injury.

"A road closure is in place at Countess Road westbound and Longbarrow eastbound."
