Some train services have been cancelled due to flooding on the line.

Great Western Railway (GWR) said all lines were closed between Westbury and Swindon on Friday due to heavy rain on Thursday.

It advised all customers travelling between Westbury, Trowbridge, Chippenham and Swindon to travel to Bath Spa where connections are available.

It added that the disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Road transport has been organised at Melksham for Chippenham and Trowbridge, departing at the same time as the train, GWR added.

Lines between Westbury and Newbury are also affected after flood water caused "significant damage to the railway infrastructure".

"Network Rail need to keep the line closed in order to make the railway safe," GWR said.

Some lines were also closed on Thursday due to flooding from heavy rainfall.
