An investigation has been launched into the cause of a fire at an Indian restaurant.

Crews from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to The Bridge in Easton Town, Sherston, Wiltshire, at 16:16 BST on 9 April.

The blaze was extinguished by 20:45 BST, using two main jets and two hose reel jets.

Everyone in the building had been safely evacuated when crews arrived to tackle the "well-developed fire".

Two additional crews from Malmesbury and Royal Wootton Bassett also attended the fire, along with Gloucestershire crews from Tetbury, Wotton-under-Edge and Nailsworth, and two Avon pumps from Yate.

The aerial appliance from Swindon and a support vehicle from Devizes was also sent.

A spokesperson from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Everyone in the building was out safely when we arrived.

"Although one person did go to hospital for checks after suffering smoke inhalation."
