Police said the A303 was closed eastbound between Countess roundabout and the turning to Solstice Park

A section of the A303 in Amesbury, has been closed due to a large diesel spillage on the eastbound carriageway.

Wiltshire Police said the closure was in place between Countess roundabout and the turning to Solstice Park.

A police spokesperson said fire officers and National Highways were in attendance alongside police to make the scene safe.

They asked drivers to avoid the area while the incident was dealt with and to check online for updates.
