More than 100 nurseries have staged displays of their flowers and plants at this year's Harrogate Spring Flower Show.

The annual four-day event, which ends on Sunday, is organised by the North of England Horticultural Society.

The history of the Harrogate Flower Shows date back to 1911 when the North of England Horticultural Society was formed to give northern growers an opportunity to exhibit and compete.

The spring show attracts more than 60,000 visitors each year whilst the autumn show pulls in more than 35,000.

Lizzie Tulip Garden Design in York, the British Association of Landscape Industries and Craven College in Skipton are among exhibitors who have claimed awards.

Visitors were also able to have a go at building a greenhouse from recycled plastic drinks bottles with the Groundwork charity, which encourages people to live and work in a greener way.
