The history of the Harrogate Flower Shows date back to 1911 when the North of England Horticultural Society was formed to give northern growers an opportunity to exhibit and compete.

Visitors were also able to have a go at building a greenhouse from recycled plastic drinks bottles with the Groundwork charity, which encourages people to live and work in a greener way.
