York river search for missing student Ethan Peters

An underwater search team is to be used to locate a student who went missing following a night out in York.

Ethan Peters, 20, was last seen at 23:55 BST on Coney Street on Sunday.

North Yorkshire Police said it was currently reviewing CCTV footage and the underwater team planned to search the River Foss.

Mr Peters, who lives in the Hull Road area of the city, is described as slim, 5ft 7in tall and has dark brown hair.

Insp Martin Metcalfe said: "Ethan has not been seen since Sunday and his disappearance is completely out of character.

"We are working closely with his family and providing support to them during this difficult time."
