Horton-in-Ribblesdale primary school's possible closure opposed

A parent opposed to the possible closure of a tiny primary school with just 15 students has said the school was a "hub of the village".

The future of Horton-in-Ribblesdale Primary School, in North Yorkshire, is to be discussed at a meeting on 6 December.

The school had no new entrants this year and has no headteacher but was rated outstanding by Ofsted in 2010.

Jonty Rhodes, who has a child at the school, added: "The school's key to this community."
