Libor bank fines fund Harrogate police treatment centre

A police charity which helps officers who have fallen ill has secured £1.5m in funds generated from Libor fines imposed on UK banks.
The Police Treatment Centre in Harrogate also supports policemen with stress, anxiety and other conditions.
CEO Patrick Cairns said the centre was seeing a growing demand for psychological treatment for police officers.
Libor is the rate at which banks lend to each other.
Institutions were fined for rigging the rate, which sets a benchmark for mortgages and loans for ordinary customers.
Mr Cairns said the money would be used to fund its "psychological wellbeing work" to help patients with stress management, as well as offering them counselling and therapy sessions.
