Robbers wielding hammers have raided a village post office near Selby, police have said.
Three men entered the Monk Fryston shop on Monday at around 16:40 GMT and threatened staff.
North Yorkshire Police said employees had been "pushed to the ground" during the raid and one person was taken to hospital for checks.
The force said the men had fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash in a white van.
Officers have appealed for anyone who was in the area or saw a white van to contact them.
Descriptions of the three men have been released.
The first man was wearing dark clothing and an orange hi-vis vest and the second suspect was described as white, over 6ft tall and of athletic build.
He was wearing dark coloured tracksuit bottoms and had a black face-covering and gloves.
The third man was about 5ft 10in tall and of a medium build. He was also wearing tracksuit bottoms and top and spoke with an Irish accent.
North Yorkshire Police said the public would see an increased police presence in the area.
