An eyewitness has recalled the moment he saw emergency services descend onto an airport after a light aircraft flipped onto its roof.
Two men in their 70s were injured when the aircraft crashed at Leeds East Airport, formerly RAF Church Fenton, near Tadcaster, on Thursday.
North Yorkshire Police said one of the men was in a critical condition.
Steve Bellwood, 59, spoke of his shock when he saw firefighters, police and paramedics arrive just after 17:00 BST.
The technician, who is from Selby, said he had been working inside one of the industrial units on site when he became aware of the emergency services.
"We had not heard anything sounding like a crash," Mr Bellwood told the BBC.
"We could see the plane was upside down just on the side of the runway."

Mr Bellwood said he had been working at the site for around two years and had never seen the aircraft involved in the collision before.
"There was nothing else around, there was just that one aircraft involved in that accident," he said.
The Air Accidents Investigation Branch said the aircraft was believed to be a Cessna T210M Turbo Centurion and an investigation into the crash was under way.
