Selby bowls player selected for England team in national competition

A woman from North Yorkshire has already planned her celebration if she wins a national bowls competition.
Gemma Broadhead, from Selby, will represent England in this year's Learning Disabilities Indoor Bowls International Series for the Munro Cup.
The event will be held in Falkirk, Scotland, on 24 and 25 April.
Ms Broadhead told BBC Radio York she will "celebrate with a beer - or maybe more than one" if the England team beats Wales and Scotland in the cup.
"We will beat Wales quite easily, but Scotland will be tough," she said.
Ms Broadhead is currently a bowler at Selby Bowling Club and competes at county level both indoors and outdoors.
She was originally coached at New Earswick Bowling Club, near York, after she only started playing the sport by chance.
"I was asked whether I would take some sport up and I did athletics and then I decided to do a bit of bowling, and try it out, and that's where it has come from," she said.
Ms Broadhead's parents Jackie and John said they were "very proud" of her.
Ms Broadhead was selected to represent England following an assessment process which measured her capabilities in casting a jack, altering jack lengths and bowling within set distances.
Jane Simpson, who organises the leagues at the club in Selby, said she was "immensely proud" of Ms Broadhead being chosen.
"She is able to bowl very competently and capably in the indoor and outdoor game, and she represents Yorkshire in both," she said.
"She can also play across the discipline of singles, pairs, triples and fours, where you have to be able to adapt your form in order to play all disciplines."
Angela Laskey, Outdoor Ladies chairman, added she was "definitely an inspiration both to able-bodied people and also people with learning difficulties".
