DUP MLA Jim Wells 'to take two-week break from Stormont role'

Mr Wells said the last five months had been "the most difficult" of his life

DUP MLA Jim Wells is to stand aside from his role at Stormont for two weeks.

In a statement, he said the last five months have been the most difficult of his life.

He said that several family illnesses and the collapse of his political career had taken their toll.

Mr Wells said he had been under enormous pressure trying to clear his name and is taking a break to recharge his batteries.
