St Patrick's Day: Thousands take part in NI events

Thousands of people have been taking part in St Patrick's Day festivities in Northern Ireland.

Spirits remained high in Belfast despite the rain as the main parade made its way through the city centre.

One attendee praised the work of the parade organisers.

"No matter what colour, what creed you are, it's lovely to see them all in the parade," she said.
