Police are investigating two separate petrol-bomb attacks which took place on Friday in Coleraine and Armagh.
A man escaped injury after what the police said was a "reckless" attack on a house in Coleraine, County Londonderry.
A petrol bomb was thrown through the front window of the property in Laburnum Place at about 01:40 BST.
Extensive smoke damage was caused to the living room.
Police say it was arson with intent to endanger life and have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
In Armagh, two people escaped injury when a petrol bomb was thrown at a house in the Barrack Hill area.
A window was smashed but no damage was caused inside the property, police said.
The incident was reported to police at about 04:30 BST on Friday.
"Two people who were in the property at the time were, thankfully, physically uninjured, but have been left badly shaken by the ordeal," a PSNI spokesperson said.
Two women in their 20s were arrested in connection with the Armagh incident.
One of the women remains in police custody. The second has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
Police stopped a vehicle in Dungannon and recovered a suspected firearm and ammunition, the PSNI said.
"Two men, aged in their 20s and 50s, were arrested on suspicion of a number of offences and also remain in custody, assisting with enquiries at this time," the spokesperson added.
