Antrim: Woman, 63, charged over suspected stabbing

A woman has been charged in connection with a suspected stabbing in Antrim.

It happened in the Firmount Drive area on Friday morning.

A man in his 40s was attacked in the early hours of the morning and was taken to hospital for treatment to stab wounds to his upper body.

The woman, 63, was charged with attempted grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.

A 44-year-old man was arrested on Friday on suspicion of aggravated burglary in connection with the same incident.

He was also suspected of threats to kill, non-fatal strangulation, possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence, and possession of a Class B controlled drug.

Following questioning he was released from custody on Saturday pending further inquiries.
