Armagh and Newry roads closed after serious crashes

A number of roads in Armagh and Newry have been closed because of two separate serious road crashes, according to the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI).

The Ballynahonemore Road in Armagh has been shut in both directions near the junction with Jubilee Park and at Edenaveys.

It follows a crash during the early hours of Sunday morning.

The PSNI have asked drivers to avoid the area.

In Newry, the Forkhill Road was closed in both directions shortly after 23:00 GMT on Saturday after what police described as a serious road traffic collision.

The road is closed between the Newry by-pass and the Newton Road.

Diversions have also been put in place.

There are no further details at present.
