Ballynahinch: 'A wonderful character' -tributes to Giovanni Buggea

The owner of a pub in Ballynahinch has said the community is in shock at the death of a man after being hit by a lorry.

The man, who has been named locally as Giovanni Buggea, died on Monday after being knocked down and carried for six miles (9.6km).

Mark Murnin, who owns Paddy Kelly's pub in Ballynahinch, described Mr Buggea as "a lovely man".

"He was a wonderful character who enjoyed coming in to the bar," he said.

Police believe Mr Buggea, who was in his 70s, was hit by the lorry in Ballynahinch.

However, his body was not found until the lorry arrived at a quarry on the Newcastle Road in Seaforde.
