High-ranking officials from China's state-owned wealth management fund are visiting Northern Ireland for the first time.

The visit could lead to Chinese investment in some local infrastructure projects.

The China Investment Fund controls assets worldwide worth hundreds of billions of pounds.

The delegation met with ministers at Stormont Castle.

It is understood the talks touched on the planned new transport hub at Belfast's Great Victoria Street.

The project has a price tag of £160 million.

The fund's representatives were invited to Belfast following Infrastructure Minister Chris Hazzard's trip to China in October.

First Minister Arlene Foster and Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness are due to go to on a trade and political trip to China next month.
