Singer Charlotte Gainsbourg on art and commerce balance

The actress and singer Charlotte Gainsbourg said she was lucky not to have had to make any compromises in work as she looked at the balance between art and commerce for a performer.

She spoke with Andrew Neil, Michael Portillo and Alan Johnson in the week when the film The Artist - a black and white French film with hardly any dialogue - received 10 Oscar nominations.
