Andrew Mitchell on Somalia conference in London

The UK's international development secretary said the international community was pulling in the same direction to help Somalia.

Andrew Mitchell said the militant Islamist group Al Shabab - recently forced out of the capital Mogadishu - was a "barrier to progress in Somalia".

He spoke as representatives from 50 countries meet in London to find a solution to conflict in the country, including David Cameron, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
