UK to elect MP for Northern Europe in French Parliament

The UK has arrived on France's electoral map, as French people living north of the English Channel can vote in elections for the National Assembly with their own Deputy for the first time.

London has about half of the electorate in the new Northern Europe seat that covers about 11 countries including the British Isles, Scandinavia and the Baltic counties.

Andrew Cryan reports ahead of the visit to London this week from socialist candidate François Hollande who is leading Nicolas Sarkozy in the poll to be the next French president.
