Quiet House of Commons: one vote for MPs in seven days

MPs have been having a quiet week with just one vote in seven days, quieter than most can remember for a long time.

Labour MP Stephen Pound said there was "tumbleweed blowing down the corridors" as he claimed the government had lost control of the timetable, comparing Westminster to Belgiuim - which had no government for nearly two years.

The Independent on Sunday's Matt Chorley said many MPs would be busy working on local election campaigns ahead of the polls in May.
