Christian and Church role in Westminster and government
Prayers are said before each session of the House of Commons and laws have to be passed by the head of the Church of England before they can be enacted.
The House of Lords includes unelected bishops and thousands of England's primary schools are supported by the Church.
Max Cotton looked at the role of the Church in government and British life as he spoke to Rev Bertrand Olivier from All Hallows by the Tower Church and Bob Morris from University College London.
