Expand Heathrow but no estuary airport, says Tim Yeo MP
A former Conservative environment minister has said the coalition has the "wrong policy" over London airports, and it is time to drop opposition to a third Heathrow runway.
Tory MP Tim Yeo, who chairs the Commons Energy and Climate Change Committee, said a new site would have "enormous and probably unquantifiable" costs and a Thames Estuary site would be in the wrong place.
He told Andrew Neil: "It's also in the wrong place. People don't live in the Thames estuary - they tend to live in west of London, north of London."
He spoke after a Daily Politics film on expanding or building airports.
