Budget: Stephen Williams on 50p top rate of income tax
A Liberal Democrat Treasury spokesman said Wednesday's Budget was not the time to cut the UK's top rate on income tax for those those earning more than £150,000.
Stephen Williams told Andrew Neil on the Sunday Politics: "I certainly don't think that now would be time to announce the abolition, or the reduction, of the 50p rate of tax."
He also said the regional pay rates should be a "long term reform" but he had no objection to them.
