Classrooms ruled by pupils or teachers?
Every generation seems to think school children are more badly-behaved and less respectful but not everyone agrees the pendulum of rights has swung too far towards children.
David Thompson spoke to Association of Teachers and Lecturers' general secretary Dr Mary Bousted who said the "age of deference was dead". But Trevor Averre-Besson, Lilac Sky Schools' director of education, said it was a myth that children thought they could get away with anything.
