Elizabeth Tower name for Big Ben backed by Kate Hoey MP

Kate Hoey MP explained why she thought Parliament's Clock Tower - home to the Big Ben bell - should be renamed the Elizabeth Tower.

She claimed there was "a lot of support for it", even though people would still refer to the tower as Big Ben.

The Labour MP has signed an Early Day Motion proposing the name change as a tribute to the Queen in her Diamond Jubilee year.

A Daily Politics film found little support for the change.
